I cook with an infra-red grill that heats to ~2000 degrees. All of the thin stainless toppers that I had seen would warp under the intense heat. While this unit costs a bit more, I had high hopes based on its weight that it could do the job w/o warping.

The topper is extremely well made and sturdy. This is the best and well worth the expense.
